A lack of a plastic based finish means that structurally we can’t provide the level of gloss that Poly products (such as PU) provide. Instead of seeing a plasticky layer on top of the wood, you would essentially see the wood’s own features being accentuated. Waxes have a good amount of inherent sheen in them, but they need to be buffed for it to come out. Shellac is also good for this purpose.

All products are compatible as long as they are thin enough. Products that tend to function through seepage into the wood are less advisable because if overapplication occurs, they will not dry very easily leading to unfavourable results. Therefore we recommend either using Waxes, Mineral oil, Teak oil or Hardwax Oil.
